NO.  The dry fire I teach is everything you do to train yourself to become a better shooter. As for the narrow definition of pulling the trigger of a gun without a live round in the chamber: If you’re using a modern semiautomatic center fire pistol, it’s fine. For anything else, use snap caps and your gun will be fine. Do not use this as an excuse for not training!
